Your Skin Guide to Being a Bride

Did the Valentine “Love” Season bring an engagement for you or someone close to you? Now the planning begins…but where to start? So many brides begin with the dress or the venue, but the most important thing is forgotten… YOUR SKIN!

Brides have a tendency to wait until the last moment to worry about their skin, and by this time it could be too late. It is easy to forget about the events prior to the big day like Bridal Portraits, Engagement Parties, and Showers. If only the bride had started early, their skin would be radiant for all the fun times that come with the big day.

Much of skin care is trial and error, or requires multiple treatments to achieve the desired look. We at Magnolia Dermatology want to extend to all of our Brides a list of skin care suggestions for after you say “YES!”

1. Start Early.

Once that ring is on your finger, call us! Magnolia Dermatology offers a Free Consultation with our Aesthetician. At this point, we will sit down with you and evaluate your skin, your wishes, and put together a plan. Depending on your skin type, sometimes treatments can take several months to see the full results. That is the reason it is best to start early to get the most out of each treatment, as well as give you skin ample time to recover. Once we begin the process, we will be here to help you along the way.

2. Make a list of things you want to accomplish with us.

Are your concerned about your skin pigment? Texture? Unwanted hair? Dry skin? Oily

skin? Acne? Wrinkles? Want to talk about Botox? Fillers? Take a look at our website, www.MagnoliaDerm.org. In addition to our outstanding Dermatology Specialists, you will see our products and procedures we have to offer as you make your list. We can take your list of concerns and convert it into a time table to address each concern to the day you say I Do!

3. Don’t try anything crazy without consulting us.

It can be easy to try the over-the-counter peels, masks, or new products. When that pesky zit pops up, let us help! Popping a zit can lead to scarring and discoloration. This is even more important in the months leading up to your big day as skin takes time to heal.

4. Stay away from the tanning bed!

We recommend this all the time, but especially during your engagement. You do not want to cause more damage to your skin. Opt for a good sunless tanning lotion, which you can purchase at Magnolia Dermatology, or you can do a spray tan a few days before. To achieve the best spray or sunless color, make sure that the skin is hairless and exfoliated. Also, be sure to keep your skin moisturized to have the longest lasting color. Give yourself time for trial runs of these products or spray tans to make sure that you get exactly the look you want on your big day.

5. Don’t forget about your bridesmaids, the mother of the bride or even your groom.

Bridesmaids and the mother of the bride often feel the a lot pressure to look good for you on your big day. Men also want to look their best…sometimes more than the women. Free Consultations are also offered to them with our Aesthetician so we can custom build packages for them.

6. Want to really pamper your wedding party?

Magnolia Dermatology not only will help your wedding party look their best, we can even help you with fun skincare get-togethers, gift bags, or even a Botox Party for your wedding party!

7. Overwhelming list of concerns? No worries…we have a registry!!

Create a Wedding Registry with us for Showers or Engagement parties. Add Magnolia Dermatology to your invitations so your family and friends can easily purchase gifts certificates specific for your Wedding Day Plan.
